NEWSLETTER: September 2026 Updates - Baba Jaga Oracle-News, Mental Health & Deck-Reviews
Dear friends,
September has been a very productive month for me. I finished all of the artworks, as well as the guidebook for my upcoming Baba Jaga Oracle. The Kickstarter campaign for the deck will launch next month. I cannot tell you a definitive date yet, but it currently looks like I will be able to have the campaign online by mid-October.
You can sign up here on the pre-launch page to get notified by Kickstarter once the project goes live. I will also send out a separate email for all newsletter friends, as well as post on my usual social media channels about the launch.
Some important information in case you didn’t catch it on social media:
The Baba Jaga Oracle will be available exclusively on Kickstarter.
This means that pre-orders will only be possible during the four week-long campaign.
I cannot promise you that the deck will become available for purchase again after the campaign ends. Of course, I would love to offer the deck in my shop afterwards, however due to the current shipping regulations in both the EU and the US I am currently not able to ship my own products.
I am working on solutions for this problem and looking into different options for retail, but if you want to make sure to get a copy of the Baba Jaga Oracle, you will have to order the deck during the Kickstarter campaign.
For more information on the shipping situation, please read this Instagram post, or watch this video.
VIDEO: MENTAL HEALTH & SHIPPING
There is a new video up on my YouTube-channel: In this video, I share the personal side of creating an indie oracle deck. I give you some insight into my work (and mind) as a solo artist with mental illness.
I also talk about the issues I am facing in regard to the global shipping situation, and how I am hoping to resolve them for this upcoming Kickstarter campaign.
Finally I talk about hope, a topic that is not only important in the Baba Jaga Oracle, but in our current reality.
VIDEO: POLISH FOLK WITCH DECK REVIEW
Joanna aka The Polish Folk Witch created an amazing video review of my upcoming Baba Jaga Oracle. You can watch the video on her YouTube channel. Make sure to check out Joanna’s awesome book “Polish Folk Magic”, as well as her Patreon community where she educates about folkloric traditions of the West Slavs.
FREE DOWNLOAD: MEETING THE BABA JAGA-ZINE
My upcoming deck “Meeting the Baba Jaga-Oracle” is heavily based in folklore and tales about the infamous Slavic witch. As a precursor for the cards, I have created a free Baba Jaga-zine that is both a basis for my upcoming deck, as well as a standalone offering.
The zine contains three hand-picked folk tales featuring the Baba Jaga. There are countless versions of these tales, so I’ve chosen the ones that resonated the most, and edited them for better readability. You can find the original text sources in the bibliography at the end.
You can download the zine for free. There is both a print-ready, as well as a digital-version attached on Patreon linked down below:
MEETING THE BABA JAGA-ORACLE
Venture deep into the birch forest, stand before the Baba Jaga, and answer her question: Are you here by choice, or by chance?
The Baba Jaga survived through centuries in folk tales - sometimes aiding the heroes, sometimes hindering them, but always facilitating change. She may be a single entity, a type of local spirit, an archetype, or everything at once. The Baba Jaga can not be defined.
Stories and folktales are at the heart of what it means to be human, and maybe today we need their medicine more than ever. Based in Slavic folklore, the Baba Jaga-Oracle explores the topic of transformation, and serves as a tool to guide you through the different stages of change.
The Baba Jaga-Oracle contains 40 cards with hand-drawn artworks and a guidebook with divination messages rooted in scholarly sources. The project will come to Kickstarter in late Autumn 2026.
The Baba Jaga-Oracle is 100% human-made with lots of love and care. All artworks and texts are dreamed up by human imagination and created by human hands. No generative A.I. is used in the making of this deck.
Thank you so much for reading. If you want to get these updates delivered straight into your mailbox, please subscribe to my monthly newsletter (it’s free, of course!).
Until next time!
